Puss in Boots
Bedtime story for little dreamers
Once upon a time, in a quiet village surrounded by green fields, there lived a kind boy named Peter and his striped, clever cat.
Peter looked around and sighed:
— Just a cat? How will I take care of our home?
But this was no ordinary cat. He suddenly spoke (yes, he could talk!):
— Don’t worry, Peter. Just give me a pair of boots and a bag... and trust me!
Peter’s eyes grew wide, but he decided to believe him. He sewed a pair of tiny boots and gave the cat a little leather bag. And that’s how the amazing adventures of Puss in Boots began!
Every morning, wearing his fancy boots, the cat hopped into the fields, catching rabbits and ducks. He brought them to the king as gifts from the “Marquis of Carabas” — a fancy name he made up for Peter!
The king was curious:
— Who is this generous Marquis?
The cat winked and said:
— A kind and noble young man, Your Majesty.
Meanwhile, Peter stayed home, still unaware of his clever friend’s plan. One day, the cat found out the king would be riding through the countryside with his daughter, the princess.
He rushed to Peter and said:
— Quick! Take off your old clothes and jump into this lake!
Peter thought it was strange, but did as he was told. The cat hid Peter’s clothes and, when the king passed by, he cried out:
— Help! The Marquis of Carabas has been robbed!
The king stopped his carriage and offered Peter fine clothes. The princess smiled when she saw him — she thought he looked very kind! The cat smiled back and said:
— If you'd like to see the Marquis's lands, follow me!
But there was a little secret: those lands belonged to a grumpy old ogre. Puss in Boots ran ahead to the ogre’s castle and said cleverly:
— Is it true you can turn into any animal?
— Of course! — growled the ogre, turning into a giant lion.
— Wow! But I bet you can’t turn into something small… like a tiny mouse.
— Oh really? Watch this!
The ogre turned into a little mouse and… SNAP! The cat caught him in a flash!
With the castle now free, Puss in Boots led the king, the princess, and Peter inside. The king was amazed and said:
— What a beautiful home! Marquis, would you like to marry my daughter?
Peter smiled and said yes — but only after asking:
— And you, my friend… will you come live with us?
The cat stretched out his legs, flicked his tail, and replied:
— Only if I can bring my boots!
And so, Peter, the princess, and the clever cat lived happily ever after — with clean boots, happy paws, and hearts full of joy.
